Sunday, September 19 - Day 17

Got up and went to mass at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton at 7:30. Drove a ways to get there but it was a beautiful church. It was huge and it had two big screens so you could follow along with the music.

Back to super 8 for breakfast, stop at Wal-Mart and then on the road to Estes Park, CO. Lots of people here due to an art festival. Decided to wait to go to Rocky Mountain National Park as volunteer at visitors center said it was crowded because people like to go into the park to leaf peep. Got a campsite at KOA in Estes Park but haven't put up the tent yet because it is in the 90's and no shade.

Got a hint to go to Time Out a sports bar in Estes Park. FOOTBALL! We had chicken wings and a salad. Denver was playing and most of the TV's were tuned to it. We asked if we could watch Patriots and Jets game. Watched it till halftime. I found a Syracuse University Pennant so I took a photo.

Back to campground and writing blog and postcards until it cools off.

Maureen, did the boys have fun and the Boston/Toronto game? I saw the score was 6 - 0 in favor of Boston!

  1. The boys loved it. We had lots of good food and also lots of people watching. It was the 5th inning before I started really watching the game. They hit two home runs and the first one they hit I was in the beer line. Beers at Red Sox games are $7.75 a cup. YIKES. I guess they don't want people drinking too much.
