Thursday, September 30 - Day 28

Got up and met Lucia for breakfast at a place called Squeeze In. It is famous because Bobby Flay did a show for his Food Network there and there were two specials of his. Lucia and I had Racy Tracy which was an omelette with bacon, avocado, mushrooms and jack cheese. It came with toast and home fries. Dave had the Spanish Flay.

Got on the road and made it to Yosemite around 2 pm. It was a long drive because it was over mountain passes with high elevations going to low elevations and then back up. Good thing we don't have any problems with car sickness. We came through towns such as El Dorado, Angels Camp – which was featured in “The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calavaras County.” We also passed Mark Twains cabin and it was located on Jackass Hill Road.

The ranger at the entrance said that the campgrounds that we wanted to stay at were full. So we are about a 30 minute drive from Yosemite Village. We drove down there this evening to see things and people were watching El Capitan so people must have been climbing. We plan on heading down there tomorrow and will do some hiking and watch people climb Half Dome and El Capitan.
